23rd annual SonRise to be held Easter Sunday | Arts & Culture

The 23rd annual SonRise on the Lake Service will be held on the banks of Lake Wateree Easter Sunday morning at 7 a.m.

The Lake Wateree Community and visitors will join together to relive that early morning experience when the follower's of Jesus Christ suddenly realized that His tomb was empty.

Along with special music and message from God's Word the rising sun over Lake Wateree moves the heart to rejoicing on this day of all days for Christians.  This service is sponsored by the Lake Wateree Baptist Church with churches of all races and backgrounds joining in the celebration.  This Easter worship has drawn hundreds over the years to Lake Wateree.  Lawn chairs are encouraged as sitting is generally insufficient for the crowds attending.  The Lakeside worship area is behind the church.  Limited parking for handicapped is available by the lakeside and a shuttle service will be available for those who need assistance from the church parking lot.

Boats are welcome to enjoy the service dockside. The Lake Wateree Baptist Landing is directly across from the Dutchman Creek Marina.

Breakfast will be provided (no charge) after the service by Lake Wateree Baptist.  

Easter Sunday schedule at the Lake Wateree Baptist Church also includes Sunday School at 9 a.m. and Easter Celebration at the 10 a.m. worship service.
