November 1 - The Annual  Christmas Open House at the Yellow Daisy is from 11am-6 pm.  143 S Congress St.  803 815-0590.

November 2-3 – Pig On The Ridge.  Best BBQ Cook-off in the southeast.  Over 70 cook teams.  Friday night 6:30 – 8:30, cook teams off “No Pigs Allowed” food for sale, Street Dance 7:30 – 11:30. Children’s activities and craft vendors.  Saturday 9:30 AM judging and sale of BBQ.  Music, vendors, 10:30 Classic/Antique car display. 12:30 Hog Calling Contest, 1:00 Cruise By.  2 PM, Awards Ceremony.  For information contact Town of Ridgeway 803 337-2213 or Tom Connor 803 337-8880.

November 3 & 4 – Steam Engine Days at South Carolina Railroad Museum. Steam engine to pull the train.  Tickets $15 coach class, $20 for open air car.  Rides at 9:30, 11:30 AM; 1:30 & 3:30 PM.   Order tickets on line at 803 712-4135.  Located at  110 Industrial Park Rd  Winnsboro. November 5 – Job Fair sponsored by Midlands Workforce Development -SC Works Fairfield.  10 AM – 2 PM Fairfield County Recreation Center 1851 US Hwy 321 N.  No registration required, free admission.  Employers & vendors contact Wendy Wright at 803 635-2292 to participate.  Updates posted online at http://midlands.scworks.org.

November 9 – Veterans Day Program, 11 AM, Fairfield County Recreation Center. 1851 US Hwy 321 N.  Open to the public.

November 9 – Red, White & Blue Dance honoring military veterans.  7 – 11 PM.  Music by Keith Williamson. VFW Post 8346, 74 Veterans Drive Ridgeway.  $5 per person, free admission to veterans.  Cash bar, Appetizers, Door prizes.  Sponsored by VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

November 17-  John’s Episcopal Church Fabulous Cake and Pie Sale  9 am – 1 pm St. John’s Episcopal Church  301 W. Liberty Street Winnsboro

November 17 – Engineer Days at South Carolina Railroad Museum.  Learn to be an engineer and drive the train.  Additional fee.  Limited availability.  Contact Rufus Simms at 803 445-6751 to register.  110 Industrial Park Rd  Winnsboro.

November 22 – Thanksgiving

November 23 – Shop Fairfield First begins. Annual promotion by local merchants to shop in Fairfield County stores first, before going outside the county.  For each sale of $25 at a participating merchant, the customer will receive a bright pink ticket.  Customers must collect 3 tickets to enter in the weekly drawing of $50 cash.  Customers may enter as often as they have 3 tickets.  Drawings will be on Friday’s at 3 PM at the Chamber office.  Winners will be notified by phone. Pictures of winner and the store merchant will be taken for publication in local newspapers.
