Only eleven weeks after the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School, Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America has decided to hold a rally at the SC Statehouse in Columbia on March 2nd at 10:30 a.m.
The peaceful rally will allow parents and other supporters across the state to reach out to SC legislators about demanding more gun regulation in order to prevent gun violence.
Speakers are still not finalized, but will include: A Columbia mother directly impacted by gun violence when her daughter was murdered by a stolen gun; a Lowcountry public school teacher working to create a safe environment for her students and grandchildren; the Moms Demand Action SC Chapter Leader; a special announcement from the Office of Columbia Mayor Steve Benjamin and representation by the SC League of Women Voters.
