Boil water advisory issued for the Town of Ridgeway

 

The Town of Ridgeway is issuing a boil water advisory for Ridgeway Water Department customers after a loss of water pressure.

Customers are asked to vigorously boil their water for at least one minute before using it to drink or cook.

This advisory is in effect until further notice.

2013 SC Waste Pesticide Recovery Collection Dates & Locations Set

The dates and locations are set for the 2013 SC Waste Pesticide Recovery Program.  Based on surveys, the South Carolina Department of Agriculture (SCDA) has established seven locations across the state making it easy for South Carolina farmers, foresters, nurserymen, golf course operators, and custom applicators to safely dispose of old, outdated, unusable, or unwanted pesticides. The goal of the program is to increase proper management and disposal of unwanted pesticides

South Carolina Electric & Gas Company (SCE&G), principal subsidiary of SCANA Corporation (NYSE:SCG), completed on March 11, 2013, placement of the nuclear island basemat for V.C. Summer Unit 2 in Fairfield County, S.C. This major milestone is the first new construction nuclear concrete to be poured in the U.S. in three decades.
