The loss of a loved one is devastating for families. For children the loss of a loved one can be even greater. In many cases children suffering do not have the same systems in place to help them deal with grief as adults do.

Nationwide protest set for August 12

On August 12th, there will be a Nationwide Protest conducted in all 50 states at the same time.  This protest is in opposition to the policies and procedures followed by the Family Court and foster Care systems throughout the United States.

Locally, the protest will take place at the Pickens County Court House from 9:00 a.m. – Noon, and at the Greenville Family Courthouse from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Nominate Your Dad for Father’s Day: “Father of Fairfield County”

A day for children to honor their fathers is June 19.

There’s no better way to show the men in your life how much they are appreciated then expressing it in a unique way.

Is your Dad courageous and loving?

Free “check-up” at the Ridgeway Community Health Fair

On May 28, the town of Ridgeway will hold a Community Health Fair from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Bible Light Holiness Church 9509 SC Hwy 34 E Ridgeway. 

Highlights include: Free Lunch, Free Screenings for blood pressure, cholesterol, random glucose, body mass index, sickle cell, prostrate & diabetes.  Representatives from DHEC, DSS, School District, Behavioral Health, Fairfield Memorial, Solaris Hospice, Sickle Cell Foundation, Veterans Affairs, Palmetto Health and Ridgeway Family Practice will be on hand to answer any questions you may have.
