Amazon adding hundreds of new jobs

Amazon announced on Wednesday it is hiring for hundreds of new positions at its site in Columbia, South Carolina.

According to a news release, the hourly positions will pick, pack and ship customer orders. All employees will receive a comprehensive benefits package that includes both health insurance and company stock awards.

On Saturday, January 12,the Consignment Bus Tour will be coming to Ridgeway!!

For it's shoppers, it is going to be a full day of shopping, lunch and more shopping. Stephanie Cannon-Poe, the owner of the business says, " it's a great way to get together with shoppers and have fun for the day. One lucky tour shopper will win $50 in cash before the very first stop!"

There are some spaces still available.

Call A Cab: New Years Eve Announcement 2012

Budweiser of Columbia, a locally owned and operated beer and wine distributor, is proud to offer this great service to all their friends and neighbors during the celebration of New Year’s, 2012.

Budweiser is once again joining, Checker Yellow Cab and others to provide the annual New Year’s Eve Free Ride Home Program.

Cabs will be stationed at the following locations for the subsidized cab rides on December 31, between 11 pm and 3am:

Near the Fountain In Five Points
Near the Wild Hare in the Vista
Near the corner of Lady Stree

Annual Shop Fairfield First promotion

Annual promotion by local merchants to shop in Fairfield County stores first, before going outside the county. For each sale of $25 at a participating merchant, the customer will receive a bright pink ticket. Enter in the weekly drawing of $50 cash by filling in your name and number of the ticket and put it in the basket. Drawings will be on Fridays at 3 PM at the Chamber office. Winners will be notified by phone.

Amazon hiring for holiday season, 50,000 positions added

Amazon announced today that the company will be adding more than 50,000 seasonal positions for its 40 fulfillment centers in the U.S. including thousands of positions in South Carolina.
